The Yoga Awareness Abhyanga retreat is a consecutive series of
2 hour Ayurveda oil treatments combined with 1.5 hour Yoga classes.

Yoga Awareness ~ The International School of Yoga & Ayurveda

Ayurveda ABHYANGA treatments are the application of medicated oils applied to specific areas of the body. We have three dosa-s Vata, Pitta, Kapha (V, P, K) and when these dosa-s are out of balance then we will experience a disturbance in our life, be it physically, emotionally or mentally. This is a full body oil bath with a steam bath and shower at the completion. These treatments will balance the dosa-s and bring them back into their rightful place within your body. This is our fundamental constitution and when we keep coming back to our natural self we automatically start to enjoy life with a deeper understanding and respect for relationship of 'Self' and with others who share our daily life.

Yoga works at a therapeutic level of releasing tension, aligning your spine moving prana (energy) throughout your entire body. The Yoga practice is an excellent combination with your Ayurvedic treatments, like brother and sister these healing modalities are inseparable. As therapists we witnes ten times the benefits for our students when applying both of these ancient Vedic healing modalities together. It's like working only with one hand when we have two, same as Yoga and Ayurveda as our proven methods for health and healing.

Spiritual Service

We work for two purposes: the personal individual purpose of one's own spiritual growth to the highest level possible, and the other the possibility of bringing humanity together as one. The first one we all understand, we all appreciate, we are all working for. But in restricting to ourself and forgetting the second, we can actually work against our own interest. So please remember that spiritual law will not permit you to work for yourself to the fullest possible extent until you are prepared to embrace humanity within your two arms. Of course, the lesser benefits may be available to you, you see, but not the highest.
