Tedd Surman is the founder and director of Yoga Awareness. Tedd teaches Yoga Ayurveda internationally in Hawaii, USA and Japan.

Tedd Surman is from New Zealand and began practicing Yoga in 1990. He immigrated to the United States in 1997 and founded Yoga Awareness on Maui, Hawaii to teach lifestyles changes using the ancient holistic healing methods of Yoga and Ayurveda.

Tedd studied for several years with Gary Kraftsow at the American Viniyoga Institute (AVI). In 2001 he began traveling to Chennai, India and studied at Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram (KYM) with TKV Desikachar, his son Kausthub Desikachar and with the senior teachers of the KYM. Since then Tedd continues to travel each year to Chennai for ongoing studies with his current teachers DV Sridhar, Radha Sridhar and Viji Vasu at Yoga Raksanam. He also studies and practices Ayurveda with Dr Ganesh at Ayu Wellness.

Tedd Surman had established yoga studios on Maui for 18 years in Makawao and Haiku. Yoga Awareness offered daily Yoga and Ayurveda classes, privates, workshops, trainings and certified Yoga Teacher trainings. Since 2015 Tedd and his wife Masumi reside in Honolulu, Hawaii and Tokyo, Japan where they have Yoga Ayurveda studios offering these precious Indian teachings internationally to students in Hawaii, USA, Japan.
