Q: While I was visiting Maui this summer, I received a series of Ayurvedic heat treatments for an injury that had been holding me back from physical activity. I was so impressed by the impact those treatments had on the progress of my healing. How can I continue learning about Ayurveda?
A: Ayurveda is an ancient healing methodology which has supported a large proportion of the world's population over the centuries. The ancient sages have brought this profound wisdom and shared it with us in form of teachings that can be applied by a mother caring for her family and loved ones through to the professional therapist who services their clients and community.
Ayurveda is not just a knowledge but rather a 'knowing'. This requires study, meditation and practice combined. If you are ready for this level of commitment in your life then Yoga Awareness offers Body Therapy and Self Therapy trainings, which include both Yoga and Ayurveda, as a teaching methodology of meditating and understanding 'Self'.
On completion of the first three levels of training you are then well prepared to commence with the next level of training, which is an in-depth study of Mula (food), Nidana (dosha) and Kalpa (disease).
