Can I apply my RYT 200 to the Yoga Awareness training?
Q: I have already done a RYT 200 hour Teacher training. Can I apply this to the Yoga Awareness 600 hour training?
A: Congratulations for completely your other training. We appreciate the effort and commitment which you have already made. The Yoga Awareness YAT certification can be used to apply for registration with Yoga Alliance (RYT 200 & RYT 500), however the Yoga Alliance hours gained from other Yoga schools may not be used for studies with Yoga Awareness
The Yoga Awareness YAT 300, 600 hours Yoga Teacher are progressive and require each level to be successfully completed before starting the next levels of Yoga Ayurveda Therapy trainings YAT 900, 1200, 1500.
The Yoga Awareness YAT (Yoga Ayurveda Training) certification is a standard established in 2002 by Yoga Awareness (USA), Yoga Raksanam (INDIA) and Ayu Wellness (INDIA). The purpose was to set a standard honoring the Eastern origins of Yoga and Ayurveda, and then apply these ancient teachings with integrity in a modern day Western environment. The pre-requisites for achieving these high standards are two-fold: (1) teacher/student relationship, (2) developing daily sadhana (practice). Only from this well-established foundation can a high caliber of teachers and therapists develop.
Yoga Awareness offer the highest international standards of professional Yoga and Ayurveda trainings. There are 4 levels of Yoga Ayurveda training (YAT 300, 600, 900, 1200). They prepare Yoga Teachers to share Raja Yoga and the Teachings of Patanjali through the Krishnamacharya lineage, and Ayurveda Therapists (YAT 1200, 1500) to be of service with the Teachings of Charaka samhita and Ashtanga Hridayam samhita. Each level is consecutive and requires the previous level of achievement before proceeding on to the next level. The certification requirements are to ensure that the student is 'fit and ready' so that the growth of the student becomes a positive transformation.
