Is your style of Yoga similar to Viniyoga?
Q: VINIYOGA seems to be the best fit for my body type, then a friend recommended that I try Yoga Awareness. Is your style of Yoga similar to Viniyoga?

Our Yoga practice is remarkably similar to Viniyoga. While we have a deep commitment to proper body aliment and the correct application of classical Yoga, I take great care to provide my students with individual adaptations based on their own bodies strengths and weaknesses. Although I studied Viniyoga with Gary Kraftsow for eight years, and maintain the highest respect for Gary and for Viniyoga, I do not call our practice at Yoga Awareness Viniyoga since I have continued my extensive study of classical Yoga, traveling to Chennai (Madras) India more than twenty times over the last ten years for training with TKV Desikachar, Kausthub Desikachar, and other senior teachers of the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram, and most recently with DV Sridhar, Radha Sridhar and Viji Vasu of Yoga Raksanam.
