Q: What style of Yoga do you teach?
A: I teach Raja Yoga, which means to shine the mind. The purpose of Yoga is meditation and to best achieve this we need to:
1. prepare the physical body, which requires the appropriate asana-s (postures) so that you can sit comfortably with an erect spine.
2. prepare the energetic body, so that our prana (lifeforce) is balanced and calm.
3. prepare the mind so that our thoughts are reduced and my attention is moving inwards.
With this stability of body, breath and mind you are now ready to meditate for only 1 minute (60 seconds). You have more success meditating for 1 minute with a calm and alert mind than trying to sit still for 30 minutes with a distracted and disturbed mind.
