In the Jungle
KERALA, INDIA

I'm still here in the deep jungle of Kerala for my 5 week wellness program. I stay with an Ayurveda family of doctors and receive daily treatments and consultations to discuss the ancient traditions of making Ayurveda herbal medicines.

These herbs are growing everywhere when you have the knowledge to see and pick them. Here they make many of the medicines used in their treatments. This process often take days of boiling, drying, cutting and grinding then using the concentrated kashayam juice of the herbs and making into pastes and oils.

I'm also enjoying the home-cooked Indian meals which are lovingly prepared and specific for my Ayurveda requirements ... and of course I'm being well looked after. I have plenty of time each day staying connected with the outside world to keep up with my work. After breakfast and lunch I take walks exploring the local valleys and then rest during the late afternoon before dinner.

In the City
TOKYO, JAPAN

Masumi is now in her home city of Tokyo and this is the view of Skytree, the worlds tallest tower, from our apartment. She has already taught two Yoga Self trainings last month and is still super busy teaching our Yoga Teacher practicum to another wonderful group of Japanese students. I hope that she can enjoy some of the beautiful springtime there in Tokyo but most of her days are spent in the Japanese tatami rooms which we often use for our trainings.

Masumi and I both return to Hawaii in the middle of May, arriving on the same day only one hour apart ! We've kept a month available for offering Wellness programs in Waikiki, Hawaii and then from mid June to late August we'll be teaching the summer Yoga and Ayurveda trainings at our Waikiki studio. These are in-person and zoom for my English trainings and zoom for Masumi's Japanese trainings.

The Hawaii and Japan wellness retreats are for clients who can arrange their own accommodation and meals. The Indian retreats are fully inclusive of accommodation, meals, Ayurveda treatments with daily consultations and optional Yoga privates. You can retreat deep into the Kerala jungle at a small family-style center ... or stay by the Tamil Nadu national parks at a mountain retreat center ... or be down on the beautiful South Kerala coastline in a luxury resort. The prices range depending on the retreat center so please contact us for an online assessment to discuss which may be best for you. Twice a year we offer a guided-program in May and December or we can help arrange your self-travel program at other times to India.
