Yoga Awareness (YAT) Yoga Ayurveda Training
Yoga Awareness
(YAT) Yoga Ayurveda Training
The Yoga Awareness YOGA AYURVEDA TRAINING (YAT) certification is an international standard established in 2002 by Yoga Awareness (USA), Yoga Raksanam (INDIA) and Ayu Wellness (INDIA).
The purpose was to set a high level of training honoring the Indian philosophy of Yoga and Ayurveda and then integrating these ancient teachings to meet the modern day needs of students. The essence for achieving these high standards are two-fold:
(1) establishing a teacher and student relationship
(2) developing daily sadhana (practice)
Yoga Awareness 'Self Training' certification is to ensure a student is 'fit and ready' so that the growth of the student becomes a positive transformation. Each level is consecutive and requires the previous level of achievement before proceeding on to the next level. On successful completion of each training you will be certified by Yoga Awareness for your accomplishment.
This is a life commitment which will increase your 'self' awareness and empower you on a path of personal growth. If your purpose is to teach professionally then only from this well-established foundation can a high caliber of yoga teaching develop.
Yoga Awareness 'Teacher Training' certification offers the highest international standards of professional Yoga training. They prepare Yoga Teachers to share the authentic Vedic teaching of Raja Yoga by Patanjali as taught through the Krishnamacharya-Desikachar lineage.
Yoga Awareness is a Registered Yoga School (RYS) with Yoga Alliance and you are automatically eligible for the Yoga Alliance RYT200, RYT300 and RYT500 hour registration. With these certifications you will be qualified to offer professional services as a Yoga Teacher internationally, within the Yoga guidelines and regulations as determined by each country.
▼ RYT Yoga Alliance
Yoga Alliance USA
Yoga Alliance is the nonprofit organization for Yoga in the United States and recognized worldwide. It works in the public interest to ensure that there is a thorough understanding of the benefits of yoga, that the teachers of yoga value its history and traditions and that the public can be confident of the quality and consistency of instruction. Yoga Alliance was formed in 1999 to create minimum standards for yoga teachers emphasizing mutual respect, sensitivity and support of different yoga styles and traditions.
Yoga Alliance maintains a registry of yoga schools (RYS) to recognize yoga teacher (RYT) training programs that meet their 200 and 500 hour requirements. Once a school is registered, all graduates of a RYS are automatically eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as a RYT (registered Yoga Teacher).
Yoga Awareness is a Registered Yoga School (RYS) with the Yoga Alliance and offers their 200, 300 and 500 hour training standards. With successful completion of the Yoga Awareness YAT certification students can apply for registration with Yoga Alliance (RYT200, RYT300 and RYT500). Students who have previously received the Yoga Alliance hours gained from other Yoga schools can continue ongoing advanced studies with Yoga Awareness.
Yoga Teaching terminology
In 2016 Yoga Alliance categorized Yoga teaching as avocational and educational. They have implemented a policy restricting RYT registered Yoga teachers to use the terms "yoga therapy" and "healing".
Yoga Teaching and Yoga Therapy terminology?
Yoga Awareness states that Yoga cikitsa (therapy) is the skillful application of Yoga teaching and this knowledge has come from our Indian teachers. We consider that the newly coined Western term "Yoga Therapy" is simply the continuing advanced education of "Yoga Teachers". Yoga teaching is therapy, they should not be defined as two separate entities. Yoga gives therapeutic and healing benefits for all human beings, at the levels of our body, mind and spirit. Yoga Awareness offers YAT200, YAT300 and YAT500 certified Yoga Teacher certification.
