Yoga Awareness offers certified Self Therapy Training of Yoga and Ayurveda at our studio in Honolulu, Hawaii and online at your home.
The three levels of Self Therapy training are for a total of 18 months and each level of training can be taken separately or completely. Self Therapy trainings are in our Hawaii studio and in your own Home. Each level of Self Therapy training is for 6 months (2 weeks group study in HONOLULU, HAWAII and 5 months personal study at HOME with Yoga Ayurveda online privates). These are an in-depth study of Yoga and Ayurveda and you will be empowered to develop a daily personal practice.
YOGA is a dharsana (reflection) to see our 'mind' and this study is presented Monday to Friday of each week. Each day moves you from gross to subtle; beginning with the study and practice of asana (body), then chanting and study of the Yoga Sutra-s of Patanjali and finishing with meditation study and practice. Throughout the course of the training you will naturally move from an external awareness to a more inward focus. This is like getting into a canoe each day, learning to paddle with your fellow students and experiencing an in-depth journey which will transform you with ease.
AYURVEDA is a dharsana (reflection) to see our 'body' and this study is presented on Saturday of each week. Ayurveda is not just starting another diet or cleanse, rather it's a meditation on 'Self'. The foundation principle of Ayurveda is 'health‘ verses 'illness' and during our 2 week study we present a comprehensive introduction of Ayurveda and analyze 'prakrtti', which is our natural state. With this clarity you can start developing simple and effective self care in your daily life, bringing yourself and family to balanced health.
We study and practice Raja Yoga, which means ‘to shine’ and also means the 'King'. Patanjali (2,000 - 4,000 BC) is considered the king of Yoga and compiled the Yoga Sutras, which is an authoritative text summarized from the Vedas (6,000 - 8,000 BC). The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali are presented in four chapters ~ SAMADHI (goal of Yoga), SADHANA (practice of Yoga), VIBHUTI (powers of Yoga) and KAIVALYAM (benefits of Yoga). Yoga Awareness 'Self Therapy Trainings' are taken from the second chapter of SADHANA, which teaches us how to practice. This consists of Kriya Yoga (attitude), Ashtanga Yoga (method) and Samkhya Yoga (creation).
Yoga and Ayurveda are the transformational tools to enlighten and the time proven Teachings of Patanjali will enhance your life, helping you 'shine' and reach your highest potential. The ancient 'Seers' used Yoga and Ayurveda as a meditation to see, like an modern x-ray machine tries to see. Self study allows us to see ourself ~ our body, emotions and mind. As we develop these abilities to 'see' we then naturally develop the ability to 'purify'. This makes our journey easier to travel and gives us a greater sense of clarity to make more healthier choices in our personal, family and business life.
