Yoga FAQ's ☆Ask Tedd☆
Q:What is the next step for me to deepen my practice of Yoga? I've been coming to Yoga class regularly, and it's really had a profound effect on my life. What is the next step for me to deepen my practice of Yoga?
A: Patanjali, the great sage who compiled Yoga from the Vedas between 2,000 - 2,500BC, says that a regular daily Yoga practice will give you the siddhi-s (special powers). The group Yoga class is a preparation (purvangam) so that you are fit and ready for the Sadhana personal develop trainings or the Yoga Teacher trainings, if that is your dharma. Practicing once a week for 10 years is good, this is considered as a healthy tapas (purification). Image though if you could practice twice a week, or three times, then your practice will quicken your progress and move you more directly to your goals. However, image if you could maintain a simple daily practice of just 10 minutes everyday. This is a far greater tapas than doing a long Yoga practice once a week. It develops you thoroughly at all levels of your body, breath, mind and spirit. This daily tapas creates the foundation and prepares you for taking the next step into the Sadhana Level 1 self-development trainings, which then becomes the purvagam (preparation) for all of the 10 levels of self transformation trainings.
