India Reflections

Illusion

Happiness in itself is real existence. Really speaking, happiness alone exists, and all else, namely sorrow etc., is nothing but illusion.

Balance II

His [Babuji's] greatest teaching to the modern world [is] that there is really nothing wrong with the material existence, provided we look to our inside existence too. Balance both. Give equal attention to both, and then there is nothing wrong with this beautiful world. If you have the inner beauty inside, you will see outer beauty everywhere, because everyone knows that beauty is not in what we see but, as the poet said, "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder."

Devotion

Devotion and love, of course, remain so easy and yet so difficult of achievement at once. Real devotion has no tinge of affection in it and goes hand in glove with enlightenment. In the initial stages the devotee may be conscious of his feeling towards the object of his love; but at higher stages the foam and fury is dimmed to the extent of an almost total loss of its awareness at the Ultimate stage.

Duck's life

We should live a life like the coots and ducks in the water, which when they are out of water, have no effect of water on their wings. Similarly, we should love our parents and everybody in the family without being soiled by attachment. That is the spiritual way of expressing the idea.

Restlessness

Restlessness and craving are divine blessings to a spiritual seeker and I pray for your speedy spiritual growth.

God III

God has hidden Himself inside your hearts and exposed you. Hide yourselves and expose God!

To Be

It is not necessary to feel anything as a result of sadhana, because it is necessary to Be. It is usual for old tendencies to crop up even after many years, because in normal life we tend to suppress and repress all these tendencies. When we meditate and do the cleaning, they must surface if they are to be cleaned. So, it is a good symptom and not bad as you think.

Love and Cleaning

You must remove all feelings of self-loathing by cleaning and learn to love yourself instead, for only then will you be able to love others. I pray for you.

Past Behind

You must learn to put the past behind you. Dwelling on what is past is not only a waste of time but also deepens the impressions. I suggest that you pay special attention to the cleaning process, making a firm will that all the past impressions are leaving you forever. Constant Remembrance will help you a great deal in staying focused on your goal.

Law of Change

It is the general human condition that happiness and sorrow are always two sides of the proverbial coin. Yet, when the sorrows set in, life becomes bleak and often frightening, and that is when one needs to have faith that things always must, and do, change for the opposite. If we would but remember this law, for it is a law, then during times of happiness and joy, of good health and sunshine and laughter, we can always prepare for the change that must, and will surely, come.
