India Reflections

Attitude II

You should forget about the past and the self and turn towards the Self and the future. It is not enough to be regular in the practice; character formation and control of the mind is our duty that goes along with it to be efficient and beneficial.

Brave Heart

Dejections and disappointments weaken our will and shatter our firmness. We should meet reverses with a brave heart and should never give way to the feeling of despondency, which is the worst drawback and the deadliest poison to spiritual life.

Look for Him

We don't want to make God come down to what we think of Him, but for ourselves to rise to see what He really is, and in that act become Him.

Turn Within

There is really no need to keep on moving from place to place in search of something that you wish to find. Everything that you need is already in you, in your heart, so you should turn to your inner Self for satisfaction and happiness and learn to live happily whatever life has in store for you.

Take a walk

I have always found work corrects our moods and normalizes it. Whenever people come with depression and things like that, my first advice is go for a long walk, because physical activity does affect mental activity, and if you are just going to sit in a corner and brood and brood and brood, nothing is going to pull you out of it. Whereas if you start doing something, you, in a sense, detach your attention from yourself.

Listening

As a manager, a person must learn to be patient, loving, and above all, learn to listen to others until they have finished. This is, in my experience, the most important attribute that a human being must develop. I pray that you will do so. Speaking is not so important. The ability to listen carefully, and patiently, is.

Inner Self

Freedom or discipline should not be looked for outside one's self; one's behaviour and attitude in life should be in harmony with the Inner self so that no feeling of guilt will arise.

Attitude

One has to avoid being judgemental and prejudiced. Ignore what is in the past but focus on what you can do in the present.

Failure

You should not have the idea that everything you do is failing but accept the idea that failure is a necessity for further success. You know the old proverb that failure is the stepping stone to success. So we should at least accept failure in the right spirit.

Acceptance II

Stop being a hindrance to your own progress and come out of your shell and accept things as they are, learning to accept criticisms in the spirit of illat, killat, zillat, which means to have a little less money than necessary; to have a little less than good health; and to always have critics. Those who are on the path to saintliness cannot afford to be averse to this situation, leave alone to be angry.
