Yoga Awareness Hawaii offers certified 40 - 400 hour Ayurveda trainings with Tedd Surman in Honolulu, Oahu.
Ayurveda is one of the oldest healthcare systems known, originating over 5,000 years ago. Ayurveda emphasizes re-establishing balance of the elements (dosha) in the body through diet, lifestyle, exercise and body cleansing. When the dosha-s (vata, pitta, kapha) are balanced the body is healthy.
Tedd Surman, the founding director of Yoga Awareness, has studied since 2002 in India with an Ayurvedic doctor and since 2005 established a successful Ayurveda practice in Hawaii. Tedd shares his wealth of knowledge and practical Ayurvedic experience with three levels of training that range from 40 to 400 hours. What you will gain from these trainings is an understanding of yourself, people and the totality of life. Ayurveda is a meditation (dhyanam) of health and how to restore health. From this clarity you will have an ability for ‘self healing’ wellness and transformation, and develop a professional service for many others to benefit from.
The Ayurveda trainings are held at our Downtown Honolulu studio in Oahu and attracts yoga students throughout the Hawaiian Islands, United States and internationally. These trainings are for students whose dharma (life purpose) is to share the teachings of Yoga and Ayurveda. They are comprehensive and rich, offering a unique way of integrating the profound and precious Eastern teachings, then applying them in the context of our modern Western lifestyles. If you have a desire for practical wellness and healing or you are an Ayurveda practitioner developing clinical skills then you are invited to join us with these authentic Indian teachings. On successful completion of Ayurveda Healthcare then there are continuing trainings with Ayurveda Advanced Studies and one-on-one with the Ayurveda Treatments Practicum. This is a life commitment which will increase your 'self' awareness and personal growth. It will give practitioners of Ayurveda a comprehensive and holistic understanding of the ancient teachings of Patanjali, Charaka Samhita and Ashtanga Hydryam.
Yoga Awareness (YAT)
Yoga Awareness offer the highest international standards of personal Yoga and Ayurveda trainings. The certification requirements are to ensure that the student is 'fit and ready' so that the growth of the student becomes a positive transformation. Each level requires the previous level of achievement before proceeding on to the next level. On successful completion of each training you will be certified YAT (Yoga Ayurveda Training) by Yoga Awareness.
Yoga Awareness YAT Certification
Students who successfully complete these training will be awarded the Yoga Awareness YAT 40 - 400 hour certifications. With each YAT certification you will be invited for ongoing Yoga Awareness trainings. The Yoga Awareness YAT certification may be used to teach at a Yoga Awareness studio and will be recognized by other studios worldwide.
Assessment for the Yoga Teacher Training is a free online assessment with Tedd Surman. This allows the student to verify and ask questions about the training, establishing the teacher and student relationship and for the teacher to assess the student's readiness.
